Through more than 150 years The old Inn in Graasten has been known as the restaurant of the town. All the years long things were busy in the beautiful old and lopsided house. This was the place where the captains of the proud and tall sailing ships could tell their stories and keep themselves warm with a toddy. Here the master artisans of the town could have their good lunch and a Snaps - the famous Danish liqueur. Many people have been doing business in the cosy tavern and celebrations, banquets and happy parties have taken place in the hall. Many tourists have here - just a few hundred meters from the royal castle - found the place, where they could enjoy good meals ore just a cup of coffee with home made cookies, traditional pastry or the famous Danish layer cakes with jam and lots of whipped cream. And still The old Inn is a most living place. From the beginning of the year 2006 Doris Pørksen Schmidt is in charge as an innkeeper. And after a renovation has been carried out in the most gentle and careful way the inn still is a place, where the time seems to have stopped although new things happen all the time and life goes on.

The old Inn offers the classic plates of the house, good old and well known Danish courses and a card characterized of the changing of the seasons and the best products of the region for example the delicious fleshy chickens and the Danish National Apple, “Graasten” because right here in the town this apple has it’s home. The famous and enormous “Northschleswigan Coffee-buffet” with it’s uncountable numbers of different cakes is to be found in the inn too.

The old Inn offers in the restaurant room for 50 guests and can in the hall welcome groups up to 90.
